Dezzie went to university! 🎓

Today I was back at Leeds Trinity University University to be part of an employment panel. It was great to meet other alumni and see some familiar faces.

Great service on the Northern 🚆 train this morning. My guide dog Dezzie got a bit excited when the train guard spoke to me, but they stepped back and didn’t allow Dezzie to interact with them.

Dezzie can get a little excited due to being wrongly stroked in the past. 🦮

A month ago my guide dog Dezzie had a drunk man fall on him while we were on the train. He’s been a little anxious ever since.

Today’s the first time since the incident that he’s fallen asleep on a train. 💛🦮

Dezzie’s first theatre show!

Thank you to Leeds Grand Theatre staff for looking after Dezzie while we enjoyed the show. As you can see, he wasn’t bothered and had a great time.

Today I’ve filmed with ITV News Calendar to highlight how inaccessible train travel can be for disabled people.

I spoke on behalf of Scope.

Did you know, 23% of disabled people avoid public transport because of negative attitudes they have faced.

This is 36% for people aged 18-34.

Sight loss is a spectrum It’s frankly not at all hilarious that someone is using residual vision if they have it. 93% of people who are registered blind or partially cited can see something blindness isn’t binary
