Well done to the new council Library Association - only met this week & had to tackle this sad issue. #WLIC22 in #Dublin was joyful & no doubt #WLIC23 in #Rotterdam will be fab. All of this progress & positivity is now at grave risk. All library folk must be welcome at our World Congress!

Ireland becomes the latest national association of libraries to make a strong statement on equality, diversity and inclusion being at the heart of our profession.

This is a naive statement. The ‘potential impact on some groups’ is prosecution of gay people. That ‘IFLA neither endorses nor sanctions host government policies’ is against IFLA’s own values and lacks both conviction and courage. IFLA #WLIC2024 ifla.org/news/dubai-sta…
