What’s this? A bonus site? You bet. Because while this was a top five list of sites I stayed on, the best site I saw all summer was on a fully booked Radiant Lake. We couldn’t stay, but we stopped for lunch and a swim. Awesome ledges, a great fire pit set up and beautiful views.

And the #1 site I stayed on this summer? Philips Lake. The south shore site. Look at this picture and tell me I’m wrong.

#2 is the only site on Clamshell Lake. It’s also sitting on a nice chunk of Canadian Shield (I’m sensing a theme). What does it have that Bonnechere and Louisa don’t? Let’s see …

#3 is at the mouth of the bay up to Rod & Gun Lake on Lake Louisa. Like the Bonnechere site, this one is set on a beautiful stretch of exposed rock. Unlike the Bonnechere site the swimming here doesn’t mean dodging swarms of leeches. No leeches > leeches. Louisa > Bonnechere.
