We don't pay the real cost of food at the supermarket. Whether it's cheap immigrant labor, sickness and health care, degraded ecology and agrarian culture, or ag subsidies, the cost is externalized. If we paid the cost up front, a lot more people would be growing food

I think this is one of our best episodes ever. Chris and James are among the best thinkers on geopolitics right now. In a sane world they'd be the leading experts, yet in this world I am lucky enough to get to converse with them!
