Colindale Cladding Victims @suejbright Those are just the categories that are actually excluded from the lenders’ pledge.

A few paragraphs into the blog, it refers to the pledge not being fulfilled in practice in other aspects too, with a link to this blog

We spent the evening with the residents of Burnt Oak @ukcladding23

The costs for registering a building with the Building Safety Regulator are outrageous! How do you expect Leaseholders to pay?
We've also been told we need to spend £150,000 on new fire doors? Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities Michael Gove Royston Smith MP SotonCAG

TenureFreedom Simple Dave Paul Lewis This stupid bill decriminalises, a regressive step because of the appalling signal that sends never mind the existing provisions are unenforceable.

TenureFreedom Simple Dave Paul Lewis We MUST push for s152-s156 2002 Act implementation from date of publication of Act with full costs awards and restorative+compensatory damages for LL breach of statute/lease.
Move to US-style.
Enough is enough.

AfflictionByLeasehold Simple Dave Paul Lewis Absolutely agree. Criminal was fair labelling and a reflection of the seriousness of the wrongs.

The new bill has a very permissive quality. Including legitimising the mass fraud leaseholders have been subjected to over insurance commissions

A worrying turn for the UK

The Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill's decriminalisation of freeholders failing to account for service charges is a massive mis-step.

Service charge abuse needs to be fairly labelled and fairly punished

Still no lending on:

Buildings < 11 metres

Enfranchised or leaseholder-owned blocks...

Non-qualifying leases

What happened to all those promises? BSA is not problem solved. Nightmare and stress continues, flats unmarketable and unmortgageable

Serious question: Why should the cost of registering a building with the Building Safety Regulator fall to its leaseholders who own neither the building nor the units they occupy? Only the actual building owner should pay the fee. Passage to leaseholders must be banned.

I’m still waiting for you to meet with me about my social housing provider Barking and Dagenham Council

They risked our lives for years by ignoring a category 1 hazard.

💣FOI WARS💣

The fight goes on for the peppercorn ground rents they promised us.

Still no evidence for the “ruined pensions” line.

So, why have HM Treasury reportedly caved and forced Michael Gove to drop the policy?

Leaseholders have a right to know. (1/4)

Treasury, Michael Gove are ducking and diving on why they refuse to follow through on their vow to cap Ground Rents! Why? Contrary to their claims, there is not 1 shred of evidence that pensioners are harmed. If there were, they’d put it in their FoI response to Free Leaseholders

Ultimately, as Mr Broadhead pointed out in his evidence, the issue has arisen “because the Government has chosen to exclude them from the support scheme.”
Imagine a govt passing laws that actively punish completely innocent people to protect the guilty.

How leasehold gave unfair power to ripp off peasants/leaseholders with unfair contractual clauses. Corrupt systems eventually crash due to too much greed. But not this one. Greed is endemic in government.

The Conservatives are all over the place on ECHR.

Today, they attack ECHR for ‘woke’ climate change ruling.

Tomorrow, they will be invoking ECHR to protect greedy rent-seekers in leasehold housing.

✍️ Shared owners have faced “exponential increases in service charges, as well as above-inflation rent increases”, and those with dubious cladding still on their buildings cannot remortgage or sell their property – through no fault of their own.

#leaseholdscandal Looks like partial advice on service charge.

Even if you go to the FTT and win, the freeholder can put their legal costs on the service charge - and they always take the more expensive lawyers.
