The Whole Wild World tour – Patricia Forde in her Laureate na nÓg hat taking a busload of writers down the wild Atlantic way and stopping to do events in every town – is the best idea anyone has ever had. I mean just look at this. Spreading joy to children all along the west coast.

It’s a good sign when your book launch is so mobbed that they sell out. Maggie Armstrong self-deprecating as always but Old Romantics published by Tramp Press is superb

Definitely spread the word on this, it looks like a really exciting opportunity!

If you think writing for children is ‘the easy option’, I’ve done a whole piece on this. We’re writing for the same readers as everyone else, we’re just trying to reach them earlier on their timeline, when it takes more effort and expertise to reach them.

I think there's still a weird stigma among universities at asking children's authors to come in and talk about craft, and it comes from people thinking writing for kids is easier.
