Very pleased to hear that our paper is one of the top 10 most-cited papers published in Nutrition and Dietetics between 2022 and 2023.

This paper has sparked lots of interesting conversations and opportunities. I'm glad our research question has resonated with so many.

Pleased to have contributed to this piece.

Affordability and accessibility is so important esp in this current climate. Gotta make a healthy choice the easy, cheap choice. Sadly, not often that way.

One positive in seeing the fast-growing coverage of UPFs in the media!

2023 has been a busy yr for added sugars in Aus. Great to end with good news -

A change to FSANZ code means products high in sugars will no longer be able to carry 'no added sugar' claims.

Lots of products to be impacted - mostly juices & foods high in processed fruit sugars

Our latest study found a total of 252 additives in packaged foods sold in Hong Kong.

Additive use was common - more than half of all foods with additives contained 4 or more different types!

Additives were mostly found in confectionery, bread/bakery good and convenience foods

Great to see ultra-processed foods coverage in Aus media.

As a Dietitian, I couldn’t help but comment on the diverse nature of the UPFs, especially their nutritional profile.

UPFs are not good for health but they aren’t equally bad.

A great piece by Sarah Berry

Increasing interest in health impacts of ultra-processed foods requires us to think about how to factor processing into definitions of 'healthy' in food policy

The Public Health Association of Australia has released its policy statement on ultra-processed foods! It's fantastic to have the support of Australia's peak public health body for policies on UPFs.

Loved being apart of this panel discussion today at

An interesting conversation about the health risks and benefits of plant based meats and what the future might look like in this space.

Cell based ag blows my mind - inspired by the innovation in this space!

Public consultation too, so get involved if you're interested.

This report by Alexandra Jones and Tailane Scapin outlines the evidence on added sugars and what we will be calling for.

Please reach out if you want to get involved but don't know how.

This year, I have been the chance to chat to ⁦⁦𝕁𝕠𝕤𝕙 𝕊𝕫𝕖𝕡𝕤⁩ semi regularly on a range of nutrition topics on NSW afternoons 🎤

It has been unexpected, and an absolute joy.

After taking the interviews from the office, today was my first time in the studio!

A big day with the IARC and JECFA release on aspartame.

It has been categorised as Group 2B - “possibly carcinogenic to humans” and likely safe at normal levels.

While no need to panic, it is a good reminder that reliance on 'diet' products is not the answer to good health
