SMA was recently added to the NC newborn screening process and Natalie Jerome was the first baby to be diagnosed and receive the life-changing gene therapy at only 16 days old thanks to Dr. Michael Cartwright (Neurology) and the wonderful Brenner Children’s team. Pediatrics at Wake Forest
