Dan has started an (obviously brilliant) substack! I never learnt to ride a bike and yet *still* this article on Critical Mass is a great read

remember doing history in year 8, when you were 12, and learning about the difference between reliable and unreliable sources?

I see itโ€™s no longer hateful insanity to say that the papers invent bullshit racism scares to frighten the public with drivel

Delighted for tireless fighter Omar, and glorious watching Jack and Lee and Ronan down the left yday... I replayed our 4th goal maybe 6, 7 times when I got in last night?

Fascism pays in Spain is the message EL MUNDO has gone for this weekend, with a full 2-page spread on the 50th birthday of Franco's great-grandson. With the headline

'The work of my great-grandfather Franco is still alive and well. His achievements continue to benefit us.'

Enjoying the usual rogues' gallery of mad ego and minor party candidates for the London Mayoral elections. 6 out of 11 want to abolish ULEZ, including the fash Britain First, naturally. Most bizarre perhaps is this ultra-reactionary incarnation of the SDP

ICYMI, the new (FREE) Cursed Objects episode about the Police. Why do they believe they are the 'thin blue line' between order and chaos? What is 'policing by consent', given that we aren't allowed to withhold our consent? Could cops ever be 'just civilians in uniform'??

'Why not make Alpro vegan yoghurt into a series of detective novels? Why not write an opera about the Adidas Predator football boot?' Funny, true stuff from Dan Hancox on the ever-decreasing returns of IP rentierism

good rant from Dan Hancox โ€“ my hunch is this phenomenon is almost entirely driven by relative risk/return on creative innovation v mining already established IP (which Dan touches on towards the end of his piece). theguardian.com/commentisfree/โ€ฆ
