‘De Havilland Week’

Another Rapide HG691 at Imperial War Museum Duxford that we haven’t seen since a deflated tyre caused it to flip on to its nose a couple of seasons ago - I have no information as to its current status or when it will return to the air ⁦Imperial War Museums

Dr Ron Thanks - its taking shape quite quickly now. Added on the oil tank this morning and nearly finished the main tank and petrol feed. One the externals are finished I will add in the cockpit with the window. Door blisters next though.

de Havilland DH.83 Fox Moth

Most of the main features are in place and today the engine compartment has ben progressing. Cockpit was a bit fiddly balancing the three triangles with curvature.

Three long distance flyers:

Amy Johnson's de Havilland DH.60 Gipsy Moth G-AAAH 'Jason'.
Amy and Jim Mollison's DH.84 Dragon G-ACCV 'Seafarer'
Alan Cobham's DH.50J G-EBFO

I should be able to add Amy Johnson's Puss Moth G-AAZV 'Jason II' to the group shortly.

Comet 4s For RAF (1962)

Five 4C aircraft were delivered to 216 Sqn at Lyneham, which already operated the Comet 2. It was known in service as the C4, and retired in 1975.

“A hundred men, where they are wanted, are better than a thousand 50 miles away” - as true today as then.

de Havilland DH.83 Fox Moth

Contemporary drawings published in 'Flight' and 'The Aeroplane' are very valuable for providing structural details - often easier to follow than photos. These illustrations are providing detail of the DH.83 U/C starting with the main leg.
