Michael Ranck made this cool composite of images he shot of the eclipse over the scene we had at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. A nice “postcard” remembrance of the eclipse experience at Love Field.

The home of Ruth Paine in Irving, Texas, belonged to the friend of Marina Oswald, where the latter stayed away from her troubled husband. Lee Harvey Oswald spent the night before the Kennedy assassination here, retrieving the hidden rifle from the garage at left.

In Fort Worth’s Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, the only Dallas area cemetery that would take him, is the burial plot of Lee Harvey Oswald.

Here, at the Hotel Texas in Fort Worth (now the Hilton), John F. Kennedy spent the last night of his life, and then gave his last address inside before departing for Dallas.

This garage ramp leads down about 20 feet into the basement of the Dallas Municipal Building, the site where Lee Harvey Oswald was fatally shot by Jack Ruby. My Dad used to talk about seeing the first-ever murder on live TV and how startling it was.

The Dallas Municipal Building, several blocks away from Dealey Plaza. Here Lee Harvey Oswald was held, interviewed, and assassinated by Jack Ruby two days after Oswald shot Kennedy.

On March 30 Chris Schur captured Comet C/2021 S3 PANSTARRS as it passed by a famous asterism, the Coathanger Cluster in Vulpecula. Quite a nice celestial pairing!

Founded in 1946, Campisi’s Egyptian Restaurant in Dallas was a favorite hangout of Jack Ruby. He ate a steak here the night before he shot Lee Harvey Oswald. I have to say that the pizza here was pretty good.

Dealey Plaza from the 6th Floor window this week, looking back on an event more than 60 years ago that changed history forever.

The German airship Hindenburg was built with a fireproof radio room, in hopes that a fire starting there would be contained from the rest of the ship. When the ship exploded in 1937, this chair and relics were protected in that room. In the Frontiers of Flight Museum, Dallas.

The Apollo 7 Command Module, flown in 1968 as the first crewed flight of the Apollo program, by Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and my old pal Walt Cunningham, at Dallas’s Frontiers of Flight Museum.
