We are devastated to share news of the passing of our member, Zell Steever. Zell was an ardent advocate of the Shoreline East and expansion of the line into Rhode Island. He was generous of spirit and worked tirelessly to improve service and access to public transit for all.

I am a proud pro-homes advocate, and I think it should be legal to build homes of all varieties in places where people want to live. Nothing “so-called” about it. More homes/acre helps projects pencil and helps the non-wealthy afford access to jobs, opportunity, and culture.

Key lesson for states that adopt new zoning/housing requirements for localities to meet: Providing high-quality, accessible training & TA for localities who are *willing* to comply goes a long way. Fighting a handful of active resisters is expensive.

Work Live Ride is the ultimate compromise bill, assuming that objections to the 2023 TOD version were in good faith. Now Westport still has objections—namely that the bill would allow developments that meet a predetermined set of criteria to be built. Constantly moving goalposts.
