Lovely to be able to return to Lancaster Priory for this morning’s coffee concert. Great organ playing from Ian Pattinson, as ever, and super singing from the Occasional Singers. Especially good to hear Oliver Tarney | Composer’s lovely setting of ‘Christ be with me’. Bravo, all.
After a very busy day of rehearsing and recording, our Ripley St Thomas CE Academy BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship for Mothering Sunday is ‘in the can’ - well done, all. Looking forward to hearing it! Thanks to our friends from Slyne-with-Hest for joining us - your singing was fantastic.
BBC Radio 4 are recording today in the school chapel. Do tune in at 8.10 on Sunday morning to hear us lead Sunday Worship on Mothering Sunday!

A beautiful Lenten Taizé service in the Ripley St Thomas CE Academy chapel this evening, with readings in different languages and chants led by the Chapel Choir sitting in amongst the congregation. A lovely moment of quiet in the midst of a busy week.
Brilliant stuff, as ever, from James Manwaring - reminding delegates that, even in one-person departments, they are not alone: Music Teachers Association are here to provide a supportive network.
Really inspiring talk from United Music, Don Gillthorpe, Loughborough Schools Music and James Manwaring at Music & Drama Education Expo today. Times are hard in music ed atm. But let’s keep shining a light on excellence that so many are still managing. It keeps us motivated and shows why others should invest.
En route to London for the Music & Drama Education Expo. Looking forward to sharing a platform with Music Teachers Association colleagues James Manwaring, Catherine Barker (@United_Music1), and Nicky Bouckley (@LboroSchMusic) to talk about the conditions needed to enable school music departments to thrive.
🎙️ 'I'm looking forward to seeing my friends.'
Listen to what Caleb (12) has to say about his experience at Morland!

There’s still time for young singers to sign up for this year’s Morland Choristers' Camp. If any music teachers or choral directors want more information, please do get in touch. morland.org.uk
Just been invited to an event at Lancaster University celebrating the Lancaster music scene - a wonderful thing worth celebrating. What a shame that they’re missing the irony here, given their wilful destruction of the music dept; an act of artistic and intellectual vandalism.
