I started medical school in 2007.

Papers from 2007 still feel like relevant contemporary literature.

The gap today since 2007 is equivalent to the gap in 2007 since 1990... and 1990 papers seemed to me impossibly ancient to me in 2007.

I agree that every paper requires a small group of people to work closely and intensively on getting words on to paper.

However, many researchers spend too LITTLE rather than too much time discussing and planning their studies and analyses. Time spent planning is never wasted.
