As a Clinical Psychologist, I have come to understand the value of active listening.

By listening properly, we can build the positive change we need.

We spoke to lots more Byker residents in the rain today.

Speaking to folk who were previously unsure who to vote for, most of who are now saying they like our hard work & message.

“We’ve decided! You’ve got our vote”

More and more voters have been telling me they’re voting for me and The Green Party for the first time this May.

It’s going to be close in Byker at this election.

It does feel like change is in the air.

I counted six wagons and about a dozen operatives working.

Phil Green space for gosforth SPACE for Fenham & Arthur's Hill NewcastleCityCouncil Politics impacts every aspect of a child's life and yet they get no vote and no say. The consultation reports for the 3 recent LTNs installed and removed did not mention children or their needs once.
We believe that the space in our city belongs to them as much as everyone else.

NewcastleCityCouncil So voters can't trust Newcastle Labour to stick to their commitments on #activetravel #cleanair or #climateaction if they want these things, and they can't trust them not to do more LTN trials if they're opposed to them. And they can't trust them to use public money well.

Some day this will be used as a case study on utter failure in change management.

Residents have been calling for traffic to be reduced on Heaton Park view for 49 years.
The Council have promised to 'continue the conversation'.
How many more years will that conversation last?

Newcastle City Council has now cancelled three LTNs and has still not announced if or how it will spend its ATE3 allocation of £7.7m. Seems to be at odds with pronouncements made in relation to new council plan new.newcastle.gov.uk/news/2024/coun…

I guess the current Leader of NewcastleCityCouncil has shown less commitment to #ActiveTravel .

As long as he can cut through on his drive from Heaton to the Civic Centre, who cares about kids, climate change, pollution, safety?

Wouldn't want him to be held up in traffic would we?

We’ve long campaigned for NewcastleCityCouncil to take seriously the impact of air pollution levels on public heath. The removal of Heaton’s LTN is a mistake.

After all the conversations I’ve had on the doorstep in Byker, I do think the The Guardian have it right.

The Green Party can win councillors in Newcastle on May 2nd.

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
