Alberta Wildfire has agreements to assist jurisdictions outside the Forest Protection Area when they need support fighting wildfires. This past week, we have provided assistance on five different wildfires in Alberta. We are happy to help keep our communities safe!

In the past week we have responded to 64 new wildfires. These fires are now all classified as being held, under control or extinguished. Do your part to prevent wildfires by following the fire restrictions and using caution when spending time in forested areas.

Alberta Wildfire is assisting on a mutual aid wildfire located about 7 km SE of Grimshaw, in the MD of Peace 135. We have deployed airtankers, helicopters and firefighters. Visit the MD of Peace 135's website for the latest information: mdpeace.com

When you fly a drone over or near a wildfire, you're breaking the law. Flying a drone near a wildfire endangers firefighting personnel and may cause firefighting operations to stop. Please give our firefighters space to do their jobs safely.
