Thousands of disabled people ‘will get £2,800 a year less under universal credit’.

7 in 10 working-age families eligible for means-tested benefit support will be worse off.

As usual govt hurts the poor, increasing hunger, homelessness, ill-health.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Whata bizarre response from Laura kuenssberg . O'farrell makes important points about how the news is constructed & editorial choices of apparently 'serious ' broadcasters are being shaped by tabloids & she makes some random comment about the police not being pussycats 😳🐈

London from St Paul's Cathedral as it looked in August 1942 by Wolf Suschitzky. It is easy to forget just how fragile and precious peace is.

I'm not going to listen but it’s incomprehensible to me that BBC News (UK) has produced a thirty two minute program:

'Did Angela Rayner break the law?'

Batshit crazy.

I haven’t had a single thought about the new movie “Civil War,” but the New York Times says my thoughts about it are wrong.
Headlines like this are so annoying.

Wonderful news: last yr I wrote about Batoor and his heavily-pregnant wife who had been told their baby wouldn't survive unless they were evacuated. They have now been resettled in the UK with their gorgeous baby. Sometimes journalism is a slog. Not today.

In 1981, 12 young men in Bradford were arrested for preparing to defend their community from fascists. 4 decades on, I spoke to them about their trial & the solidarity that helped secure their freedom. The Bradford 12 case was a pivotal moment in British legal history.🧵

Birmingham is so full of iconic historic buildings still. Don't let developers demolish The Electric.
The UK's oldest cinema opened in 1909.
The same period as our wonderful Moseley Rd Baths.
Both are vital to Birmingham's rich story of civic pride.
