In our preprint we asked (biorxiv.org/content/10.110…) if cortical neurons signaling the absence of an expected sensory stimulus or the presence of an unexpected stimulus represent their own respective cell types. The short answer is yes.

Its out! This paper is a collab with Chie Satou from the Rainer Friedrich Lab lab & others (@pawelzmarz Kuo-Hua Huang etc). Here we demonstrate that RV & HSV vectors can be used in combination with genetic tools to interrogate neuronal circuits in ZEBRAFISH! elifesciences.org/articles/77153

Very excited about my recent work with Sean O'Toole in Georg Keller 's lab at FMI science engineereing AAVs to target functional specific cells in cortex & showing that positive & negative prediction error responses map onto targetable transcriptionally distinct cell types.
