The skillset of a physician assistant is a subset of the skillset of a doctor. In other words you don't have an overlap of skills, but rather a watering down of skills, which lowers the standard of patient care.

People who get the blame for the dire state of crowded A&Es who’s fault it isn’t:
-Busy, overworked GPs
-Patients attending ‘inappropriately’
-Patients who are drunk

People who should get the blame for crowded A&Es who’s fault it is:
-The government

This is a shocking read. The hospitals doing this should be investigated by Care Quality Commission .. they are putting patients at risk. It isn’t acceptable to think that having a physician associate with two years experience carrying an emergency/ crash bleep is a substitute for a dr.

Utterly shameful that qualified GPs can’t find work whilst there is ringfenced funding for practices to hire non-doctors

A waste of 10+ years of education and training in favour of workers with perhaps 2 years’ accredited medical training… a loss to the taxpayer

The Hospital of St.Cross in Rugby (part of UHCW NHS Trust) is using a non-medically trained anaesthesia associate on an anaesthetic on-call rota in place of a trained Anaesthetic Doctor
