Writing a piece on a new climate report coming out later today that is, frankly, blood freezing in the veins terrifying.

The rate at which future returns are discounted leads to long term investments being shelved when they should be promoted. A tidal electricity barrage with an entirely predictable generation profile for 100 years must be worth more than a road project.

He really is no scientist - he is speaking rubbish and frankly should not be interviewed again on this until he has had some basic education - that does not rely on Latin or Greek

Once again a movement will crystallize around these statements, pretending that they have an easy solution to the UK's problems. And a responsible, smart politician would not allow that to happen.

THREAD 🧵: Donald Trump isn't just bleeding the RNC dry of funds, he's bleeding the party of voters. Those who know how he works best, his own former employees, are refusing to give him their vote.

Don't take our word for it, listen to them:

It is a matter of measured fact that global temperatures are increasing. Abnormal weather events are signs of a changing climate. No climate scientist claims that global warming just means we get our usual weather only a bit warmer!

Yet another scandal coming from a failure to fund public services in line with the demands we put on them - with an added slice of nonsense from a belief that contracting out will give better outcomes.

My daughter has young children and a large pond - she has installed a rigid open plastic network just under the surface. The kids can’t fall in but the ducks fish herons and other wild life can live with it.

I don’t want to say ‘middle-aged, white man’, but I’m definitely seeing a trend in the bullshido and absolute lack of knowledge when it comes to net zero.

Ok, let’s fact this out.

It's happened many times over the decades...

Every time the statutory environmental agencies dare to do their job right, the Govt of the day threatens to take away their powers, cut their budgets, and put them back in their box

That's ultimately why we end up with poo in our

Hugely concerning to see the collapse in Civil Service Fast Stream applications.

From 64,697 in 2020 to just 26,899 today - a shockingly large decline.

I joined in 2006 and it was a transformative scheme for me. Very sad to see it now appealing to far fewer.
