Went to a student showcase hosted by The Free Black University and reinspired to teach. I spend so much time creating structures for my community to learn anf coproduce knowledge of our own but I want to be in the classroom with folks!

.The Free Black University's event tonight was a spiritual experience. As someone in the audience said, I need to sit within the space it opened up in me and let the experience wash over me.

Beyond inspired after listening to the The Free Black University students reflections on their experiences which touched on radical #black thought, non western #epistemologies , imaginaries, #community #dreaming - we must come support this work #academia

Melz Owusu came away from their UK education with an important realization: there must be a better way to reflect Black students in the curriculum.

And so, the The Free Black University was born.
