Due to unpredictable rockslides, we chose not to attempt Chimborazo. Reflecting on our trek as we watched the sunset from basecamp, I'm not even slightly disappointed: We summited 6/7 peaks, are all safe and healthy, and had fun doing it! Thank you to everyone who cheered us on.

Weather permitting, Dale, Farid, and myself will attempt #Chimborazo tonight… Until then, we’re resting while we can, enjoying the alpacas, and playing lots of cards at the lodge. #TYL23

After a few muted days, the team summited Iliniza Norte! We weren’t able to take a team photo at the top, as the summit platform itself is only about 8 inches in diameter. We accomplished something exceptional today – no words can capture the feeling!

The team made a summit attempt on Cayambe Sunday at midnight. After a grueling climb dealing with the altitude, glacier-covered terrain & utter darkness… Perry & Farid made it to the peak at 7:15am! 1,190m ascent to an altitude of 5,790m, 10.5 hours roundtrip. Today, we rest!

Status update: Team will make an attempt on Cayambe at midnight tonight – expect it should take 10-12 hours round trip. Will share an update tomorrow upon return, stay tuned…

4 summits in 4 days, 2,879m total ascent, 44.94km total distance!
Next up: Midnight climb of Cayambe, #3 highest peak in Ecuador & our greatest ascent yet. We’ll be acclimating & training until we take that on late Sunday into early Monday.
