The amazing Thomas is at it again. A lab phenomenon doesn’t have much impact in real life context, but can be used to improve learning in indirect ways!

In short, we show that the celebrated pretesting effect/attempted retrieval benefit is limited in realistic learning settings, where items are reacted multiple times and learners have prior knowledge about the topic. (2/3)
