It’s about time to launch programes on LIVER FIBROSIS screening among high-risk population, similarly to colorectal and lung cancer.
This must-read review in Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology describes the ideal program.

A Review in Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology provides an overview of barrier function across the gut–brain axis and examines the role of the gut microbiota in communication across and between these specialized gastrointestinal and brain barriers in health and disease. 🔒 go.nature.com/3J8Js4Z
This is a must read.
I reviewed it (acknowledged) and thought this was a very important paper. We indeed need to rethink #biochemistry and #physiology behind #bileacids , given emerging data on their diversity (and most likely also other metabolites).

Excited that the perspective on bile acid modifications with Knight Lab is out. It is aimed to be a bit provocative. IMO - we need to rewrite and update all biochemistry textbooks. These are some of the most important molecules in biology. See rdcu.be/dDHoC
