COP28 is now on the verge of complete failure. The world desperately needs to phase out fossil fuels as quickly as possible, but this obsequious draft reads as if OPEC dictated it word for word. It is even worse than many had feared. It is “Of the Petrostates, By the Petrostates

We urgently need to phase out fossil fuels: not reduce, not phase down, not minimise but phase out. Good to see fossil fuel production mentioned in the draft COP text today, but it simply does not go far enough to avoid catastrophic climate change.

At the UN Climate Ambition Summit. We need national and subnational governments to take #ClimateAction , set clear targets, and boost the green economy. Not tomorrow, not next week: now.
