Colleagues & prisoners HMP Kirkham joined together today for a remembrance service jointly led by our Managing Chaplain, Tony and our Veterans In Custody Lead, Steve. We observed 2 minutes silence to mark Armistice Day and laid a wreath.

@greatbritishbarberbash Liverpool was attended by 5 HMP Kirkham prisoners on ROTL. A great networking opportunity with lots of potential employers. They found it inspiring & got business ideas & styling ideas to utilise their own skills from their Novus barbering course.

Monday saw the launch @HMPKirkham of the 'Farm to Fork' hospitality drive. 'TED' type talks included powerful lived experiences, incredible prisoner performance on hope. 51 prisoners attended event & Pop up Employment Hub & Custody to Work. Empowerment, Engagement & Inspiration.

Amazing team from Preston Windrush Generation and Descendants UK/WNO (mobilised by Klare Lukacs and Tracy Jackson) joined forces with our talented Chef Chris McCammon & his team to co-create wonderful fusion food in Black History month. 50 meals were made, donated & distributed to the Windrush community 🌈🌈🌈

In recognition of Black History Month HMP Kirkham library colleagues Lancashire Libraries created a thought provoking poem on National Poetry Day (7.10.21). They are also promoting the work of black authors & books about black culture, with help from our prisoners. Black History Month

Ant Bigley shared his inspirational story of overcoming testicular cancer. Other contributors were Turbary Woods Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary and Lancashire Libraries. Colleague Steve promoted fly fishing, demonstrating how to make a fly for the end of a fishing rod. Thank you all
