While much of the UK Commando Force is deployed with NATO in Norway, operations continue in the #RedSea . Boarding Teams from 42 Commando Royal Marines embarked on HMS Richmond assist with the freedom of passage by intercepting weapons and drugs used to fund Houthi attacks.

#RoyalMarines spent 2023 deployed around the globe - often in harm's way, including operational successes during the evacuation of Sudan and in counter-narcotics.

Today, HQ UK Commando Force hosted Brigadier Terje Bruøygard, the Norwegian Commmmander of the North Brigade, at Stonehouse. He discussed upcoming exercises with Brigadier Duncan Forbes and the further opportunities to partner bilaterally and as members of The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) and NATO.

In December, elements of the UK Commando Force, led by 148 Bty, deployed on RFA Mounts Bay to Ex FREEZING WINDS alongside the SRS to train with Finnish SOF, 2nd RECON U.S. Marines, and other NATO Allied SOF Command (SOFCOM), allowing the teams to develop skills, understanding and build relationships.
