I am legitimately humbled and speechless… Subspace Rhapsody and Those Old Scientists are both Hugo Finalists… among other shows I am in awe of… 🤯 #StrangeNewWorlds

How did this happen? Our showrunners fought for it & insisted on it. To Paramount/ CBS’s credit, they approved and I am grateful for that. But most studios refuse to let writers produce their episodes. Most release the writers before & overtaxed showrunners have to cover set. /2

One more thing: Dana and I got to not only write but produce Subspace Rhapsody. We went to set (me physically, Dana virtually) and worked with our incredible director & songwriters & choreographer & crew. But this is incredibly rare nowadays. It’s the exception not the norm. /1

Word is out. 1st ever Star Trek musical episode on #StrangeNewWorlds . I got to write it with Dana Horgan, the incredible Tom Polce and Kay Hanley ✨🖖✨ wrote ten beautiful songs for it. So so proud of this. We're still on strike for a fair contract. #StrikeTrek

Tonight's #StrangeNewWorlds 'Charades' is a scifi dining room farce beautifully written by Kathryn Lyn and Henry Alonso Myers and beautifully brought to life by the most incredible cast on the planet. All these artists, ALL of us, are on strike for a fair contract! #StrikeTrek

Every year in lieu of a holiday bonus studios lay off writers room support staffs during Xmas & new years when shows are idle. It's a common industry practice. So TV writer/producers (gladly) pay the staff out of their own pockets to cover this deficit. Please spare me this bs.

There’s barely any pathway for support staff to rise up because shrinking episode orders and smaller writers rooms/mini rooms have decimated lower level job oops and freelance script opps. That’s why pre-wga have been on the line with us en masse. #wgastrong
