An amazing evening with auxiliaries (sadly, now mostly former auxiliaries) with 289 years collective service. As one person put it, volunteer policing runs silent and runs deep. Great people doing so much in their communities and for agencies quietly without seeking attention.

Thanks Chief Burman of Wayland PD, for your time today discussing volunteer auxiliaries. As is also the case for many of his officers he began his career as an auxiliary.
