It feels like the tides are finally starting to turn on this.

Allowing a few thousand unelected & unaccountable people to appoint a Prime Minister is fundamentally anti-democratic.

The choice should be returned to elected MPs, who are answerable to the public for their choices.

🚨🚨I went to Anglesey Freeport, part of Michael Gove’s “unfinished cathedral” of levelling up…you can see that freeports make sense locally, as economic place-making tools, even if OBR says they’ll make no odds nationally/1

It’s done: 🇪🇺 has been APPROVED by the European Parliament. All parts have received a yes vote.

It will overhaul EU rules on processing migrants and asylum claims. Votes against by far left (saying too harsh) and far right (saying not harsh enough) weren’t enough.

The U.K. has the chance to align with the U.S. rather than wait around for the EU — but the square mile isn’t biting.
