Not only should we be outraged that this happened to the child of servicemember at a DoD-run daycare, but the family couldn’t even count on the people they thought they’d be able to turn to in their moment of need.

Shameful.

Our troops and their families deserve better.

#IAVA internal research on military sexual trauma asked survivors if they reported these incidents, and if they didn’t report the crime, why not.

Fear of retaliation was a top reason. And 63% of those surveyed who did report, said they were later retaliated against. #SAAPM
