Last Thursday, the Niger State Ministry of PHC in collaboration with BudgIT Nigeria, hosted the PHC Facility & Workers Award ceremony to recognize health workers and community members who are making a difference and delivering outstanding service at their Primary Healthcare.

In attendance were esteemed guests including the Niger State Commissioner, Ministry of PHC, Dr. Ibrahim Dangana, represented by the Dir. Planning Research & Statistics, Dr Inuwa Junaidu; the Perm. Sec. represented by the Dir. of Community & Family Health Services, Dr. Hauwa Kolo

Hats off to all the awardees, health workers, community members, and the government stakeholders who are doing their best to strengthen Nigeria’s health system. #PHCAccountability

The award categories included Best Performing PHC Facility (PHC Accountability Portal), Best Performing PHC Facility in Service Delivery, Best Facility Volunteer/Health Champion, Best Performing Ward Development Community, Best Performing Community Champion among others.

The Award was structured around community ownership, aiming to influence social behaviors and institutional accountability.
