We help create leverage for ourselves by playing with low hands. Defensive linemen play ground to chest in the run game. In order for offensive linemen to create leverage, they must get their hands underneath the defensive linemen’s hands.

Playing with independent feet is crucial for efficient movement. Guys often get in trouble when they step with the post foot instead of pushing off the backside foot to redirect inside. When you step instead of push, you widen your base making it harder to change direction

The backside cutoff is one of the toughest blocks for OL to make. A key point of emphasis after the OL rips and runs to gain leverage and get fit up is to create vertical displacement. This movement off the ball will open up running lanes for the back and lead to positive yardage
