A new โ€˜game changerโ€™ vaccine trial is underway, designed to help the immune system recognise and destroy cancerous cells. mRNA-4157 (V940), uses the same technology as current Covid vaccines & is being tested in final-stage Phase III trials.

Incredible graph showing that change in cancer survival rates, (via Scott Alexander, by @ourworldindata). The 'War on Cancer' hasn't been won, but humanity is (too) slowly winning

I mean, we've got a bit more going on than whatever this is...

(Unless this is a ploy to post deliberately crap adverts on the Underground to make sure no one from London ever visits, in which I case I am strongly in favour)

Itโ€™s probably the case that this is mostly true of humanities majors rather than, say, engineering.

But thereโ€™s nothing *inherently* easy about the humanities, thereโ€™s been a choice to make the courses easy to please students. You could make hard classes if you wanted to.

NEW: my column this week is about the coming vibe shift, from Boomers vs Millennials to huge wealth inequality *between* Millennials.

Current discourse centres on how the average Millennial is worse-off than the average Boomer was, but the richest millennials are loaded ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿš€

This is a really funny 'takedown' of R in that it starts by admitting that if all you want to do is read in a csv, do some summarisation, create a model, make a nice graph then R is good. But that is... A lot of social science!
