This whole thing is like a trademark Xabi Alonso crossfield pass. I don't know if it's the *right* choice, but it's the classiest choice and the one that looks the coolest.

Certainly sounds like Alonso's agent called all the relevant parties today and told them he's staying put.

I get Lucas' renewal given the state of the RB market and his good performance lately (he always performs when the contract is up for renewal...).

The Nacho one is more difficult to justify. His performances are not good and a renewal could delay a much-needed young CB hire.
