A short report on our BBURNED Fire Emissions Workshop in November 2023 is in the March 2024 issue of the IGAC Project newsletter igacproject.org/sites/default/…. A more detailed report is in preparation but this provides an overview of the topics covered and the challenges to come.
Spring & fall are typical fire seasons for the southern Appalachian region - these are the “dry” seasons, when exceptionally windy or unseasonably warm days cause red flag warnings. Not summer, like most of the western North America or the boreal + Arctic. #Wildfires
