Wage growth in the US over 2020-2023 was in favour of low-income earners, eliminating around one third of the rise in wage inequality over 1979-2019. Gains were more concentrated in the bottom half of the pay scale than during past episodes. Source: updated Autor et al. (2024)

I’d bet on 2 and 2.5 degrees because I'm bullish about energy transition

Yes, there are risks on the upside [positive feedbacks, higher sensitivity based on recent warming trend] but also on the downside [breakthrough in DAC, fusion etc]

Stunning graph: the plummeting tax rates of the richest Americans. For the first time in history, billionaires have a lower effective tax rate than working-class Americans.

The reality of Putin's war on civilisation, in Odesa.

While Greece, Spain, hold on to Patriot systems, joggers in Ukraine are cut down by cluster munitions.

Protect those who want freedom! 🙏

On , I’m reflecting on my visit to the Philippines & Singapore where I spoke on the role of philanthropy in tackling climate change. The Rockefeller Foundation & ACEN also launched the CCCI initiative, which marks a big step towards reducing emissions and equitable energy access.

A Ukrainian soldier texts from Donbas:

- The whole unit was watching. After the vote, one could hear all over the trench: “YESSS!”

Thank you!

This is real. This is what Speaker Johnson plans to spend all next week on in the House. No vote on military aid for Ukraine will be debated or allowed.

Johnson after next week then plans to give everyone in the House another two week paid vacation to waste more time.

So many articles about EV sales right now are just repeating what was written somewhere else about a slowdown instead of looking at the data.

Here's a good datapoint:
EVs hit 42% of sales in China in March (retail). Up 30% year on year. April likely heading for 45% share.

This is madness.

Yesterday’s low temperature of +22.5°C (+72.5°F) in Biarritz was the highest minimum temperature ever recorded in France 🇫🇷 for the month of April. In fact, +22.5°C was one of the highest minimum temperatures ever measured at this station (for any month).
