After a big season on the ice it’s time to come home. It has been an absolute privilege to lead this remarkable and talented team through the Antarctic deep field for antarctica.gov.au to advance world-leading Australian climate science 🇦🇺 🇦🇶
Congratulations to the antarctica.gov.au traverse team, who’ve returned to Casey after their successful 2300km traverse to Little Dome C. Infrastructure and equipment delivered by the team sets us up for future seasons of Million Year Ice Core science 🙏 John Cherry Australian Antarctic Program Partnership
🚜 Are we there yet? Our tractor traverse team for the Million Year Ice Core project is halfway home. Only another 600 km to go to reach Casey station! With views like this, it’s nice to have time to enjoy the scenery.
