Compared with no invitation for routine PSA testing, a single invitation for a PSA screening test reduced prostate cancer mortality at a median follow-up of 15 years, but the absolute mortality benefit was small.

Emerging concern or marginal issue? asks Rami Kantor in his commentary on our study of resistance.
In this collaborative analysis of cohort studies, we identified INSTI DRMs in 86 (14%) of 599 viraemic people on dolutegravir-based ART.

If you are studying exposures which recur regularly and can change over time, Kate Birnie’s paper is a great example of how to think through potential causal comparisons.

We don’t have to limit ourselves to “yes or no” questions! Understanding nuance is harder but within reach!

The abstract👇🏼

If you reached out to me asking about continuous exposures over time in the past few years, the this is the paper I told you was “coming soon”!

Kate’s done a really thorough job explaining the ins and outs of the method! Enjoy!

New paper alert:

Led by the amazing Kate Birnie, this new methods paper addresses estimating inverse probability weights when your exposure is continuous and can change over time in complex ways.

Check it out!👇🏼

Question:
How are observational studies that explicitly aim to emulate a target trial reported?
Answer:
Not well - reporting could have been more consistent and complete for many studies.
