It was a pleasure to meet some of the volunteers and dogs from K9 Search & Rescue NI today at Stormont. They do amazing work across NI and beyond. Max (pictured below) was recently working in Turkey following an earthquake.

Recently we received a very generous donation of £5000 from a trust.

The donation came about after our Team Leader was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the King and Queen, for the work we carry out for humanity.

We are incredibly grateful to the trust.

Last night, our Deputy Team Leader attended the Mayor of Ards and North Down, Jennifer Gilmours installation dinner in Bangors City Hall.

Being one of her chosen charity’s of the year, it was great to be party of her installation dinner, along with the other charity’s.

Last night, some of our team scrubbed up and attend the Veterans Awards Ireland at the Europa Hotel.

James McMordie, one of our Search and Rescue Dog Handlers won Role Model of the Year and came second for Volunteer of the Year.

Yesterday, four of our team travelled to Portugal, home of SAR Team, for a seven day Urban Search and Rescue course, starting tomorrow.

The course wil be delivered by both SAR Team and Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit to Evolsar teams and Portuguese firefighters.

A massive thank you to Fast Fit for fitting another one of our rescue vehicles with four Goodyear tyres!

This isn’t the first time Charles Hurst Fast Fit have supplied and fitted our rescue vehicles with quality tyres, keeping our vehicles on the road and ready to respond.

Yesterday we met with Nicola, Mark and their gorgeous pup Gabby in Antrim to receive a generous donation.

Nicola and Mark recently ran the half marathon and decided to raise some vital funds for our charity. In total they raised over £450!

Yesterday, some of our team had an early start, to travel to Portlaoise to take part in Major Incident training.

Rescue Org Ireland put the team through their paces with realistic, stressful simulations, in order to better prepare for a major incident with mass casualties.

Recently we caught up with the organisers of the Sunday Life’s 999 Hero Awards.

It was fantastic for K9 Search and Rescue NI to win the category and receive the award.

Nearly a week after the powerful earthquake in Morocco, the likelihood of our team deploying now and being effective is extremely low.

We would like to thank all Evolsar teams, especially Serve On, who are ready at a moments notice to deploy around the world.

Our team remain on standby to assist with Search and Rescue efforts in Morocco. If we receive permission from the Moroccan Government, we deploy alongside SERVE ON and Evolsar.

A limited number of International USAR Teams have arrived in Morocco and are making assessments.

We are monitoring closely and preparing to be in a position to assist in Search and Rescue efforts after an earthquake in Morocco.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.
