Amazing work from Silvia Saccardo Hengchen Dai et al - THIS is what it looks like when experts run behavioral policy programs:

1-Massive samples
2-Extensive prelim work
3-Real-world trials

Stop highlighting bad science -> start doing more like theirs.

One real concern in our field is too many people that love to say 'economists got it wrong' or 'nothing in psychology replicates'. Stating this implies you have never taken a course in economics or psychological methods and are just repeating tweets that got 30,000 likes in 2018.

Summary:

1. Greater scale of evidence = better at predicting policy outcomes
2. Type of study method (RCT, meta-analysis, survey, etc) is helpful to some, but hugely varies in value to policymakers

At 41 years of age, as a full-time professor and a few years of reserve service, I have commissioned as an officer in the @USairforce/Air National Guard. With my wonderfully supportive mother at last week's graduation.

This is devastating news. He was nothing but supportive of our work, long before he knew what the results were. Always quick to share thoughts and encouragement. A true loss.

To anyone writing stories about him, please highlight his human side, not only his achievements.

If someone accidentally writes 'Tursday' in an email, what is your default assumption for which one they intended?

'Did my own research'-guess what we found?!

People that don't care about you & want to divide communities push cheap, lazy lies about vaccines, then say misinformation is fake.

Solution: Build trust. Engage real concerns. Keep debates public.
