Extremely saddened to share that three people lost their lives to a wild elephant in Assam yesterday. I write an obituary for Mr Biren Rabha, a forest official whom I spent countless days with. projectcroak.com/post/rememberiโ€ฆ

Check out this wonderful film by Veditum India Foundation on Siddharth Agarwal 's 3000km walk up the Ganga! It's a delight to almost feel the beating heart of India, and see how they have built on these ideas over years!

Gogoi da retires from Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary after taking care of the Forest Inspection Bungalow for several decades.
Was delightful to sit by his fire and then help him bring the utensils up to the elevated porch post dinner - to keep them safe from inquisitive elephants.

Visited the TAGS collective at Tamulpur, Assam- set up by Rabindra Nath Upadhyay around the 1962 war to promote regional development.
It still carries forward that vision, and trains local people in village industry, now also rehabilitating ex-militants. Shot on 120mm film
