77 LGHS seniors will receive a Capstone Medal of Distinction this year! Most didn't get the A right away, but we believe in revision here - & after lots of direct, specific, & immediate feedback, they were able to revise & get the grade they deserved! So proud of them!

After all the hard work, the triumph, & the countless rounds of applause - I walked in on this. Our students, hand in hand, sharing together that the glory isn’t their own.

I texted my husband as I walked to my car & said this - THIS - is what I hope for my own children.

It's hard to put into words how happy I feel after this morning's Student Talks. It encapsulated so much of what I think school should be. Our 8 LGHS seniors were thought-provoking, soul-bearing, beautiful, & brilliant. I am so honored to have been a part of their journey.

We've always had SEL in schools. It was called recess, play, & classes like Music, Art, Physical Education. But they have been reduced or removed to spend more time on testing, & then we wonder why students lack social/ emotional skills & misbehavior that comes with lack of it.

#myfavoriteLieutenant made a visit to LGHS to show off T52 to their AUT Unit. My husband LOVES this part of his job and it makes my 🖤 so happy to see him create this real world scenario for these amazing learners. T52 is named HANK- Highlighting Autism Needs and Knowledge.

They LOVED IT! Lots of requests for seconds and 'can we add it to the menu?'
Next week we are making another batch so K-1 can try it! Thank you to Ms Cat's kitchen team 🥬

Over 90 seniors have presented Capstones in the last three weeks. Only a little more to go after spring break! My favorite thing this year is when they sneak in pictures of them working with my baby daughters as a shameless attempt to win over the judging panel. ;) ;)
