It's been a VERY BUSY final day thus far at #HippFest2024 , but here's a quick throwback to this afternoon's absolutely jam-packed #LaurelAndHardy double bill. A favourite every year at Hippodrome Cinema! With wonderful live accompaniment today from Stephen Horne and Frank Bockius.
Kennington Bioscope The Cinema Museum what a lovely review! Well done and thanks to all! 🥰

Ralph Ince evening… The Argyle Case (USA 1917) with
Ashley Valentine 🎹🇺🇦 Kennington Bioscope
A fabulous evening in Kennington with two rare Ince films & one that the AFI considers lost! Thanks to Tony Fletcher - and the BFI - it is now found and a very enjoyable too!

Breaking: Wikipedia is *wrong* shock!! The Argyle Case is NOT lost and can be found alive and being projected with piano accompaniment TONIGHT at the Kennington Bioscope on the BFI's 35mm print. How often do we get to watch a 'lost' film?? Not to be missed. #SilentFilm
All new to me: this is great and I am looking forward to tea and Tunnock's Tea Cakes and getting lost in film on film!! #BlessedAreTheProjectionists and the archivists, collectors and accompanists. Caterers and curators... ticket sellers... audience! #SilentFilm #Live
I’m introducing this programme tonight & sharing the love, Ince by Ince!! (Ah, c’mon, no groaning at the back! You know what I’m like… give me an Ince, I’ll take a mile etc. etc…) Be there, 7.30pm Kennington Bioscope The Cinema Museum for 35mm BFI feature + supporting films & live music.
We’re showing director/actor Ralph Ince some love tonight The Cinema Museum !! Doors 6.30pm for 7.30pm Wed. 20th March. 3 Ince films from the silent ‘teens: 1913, 1915 & 1917, the feature is showing on 35mm. Bar! Café! Food! Live music! Intros! See you there!! cinemamuseum.org.uk/2023/kenningto…
Accompanying films Kennington Bioscope is fun - and educational! Ralph Ince directed over 170 films, appeared in 110 and was famous for his portrayals of Abraham Lincoln apparently! I’ll be playing and watching my first Ince film at the same time tomorrow - The Argyle Case (1917).
Our event Wed. 20th March 7.30pm has developed into a full evening of Ralph Ince! Nice! Join us for restorations of A REGIMENT OF TWO (1913) + HIS PHANTOM SWEETHEART (1915) & an imperfect 35mm BFI print of THE ARGYLE CASE (1917) 🎹Ashley Valentine 🎹🇺🇦 & Timothy Rumsey + Michelle Facey
