Regardless of any climate variability, a farmer must always respect the dictates of agroecological regions and should be advised of the correct crops to grow to ensure food security from the household to the national level.

I don't think ZiG will find it's strength in this kind of reporting. The 3.2% was for USD inflation. ZiG inflation will only come out in May, and even then it will be month on month inflation, not the widely used year on year inflation.

I am told the strategy was to go on the ground to towns, cities, districts, suburbs and growth points and the campaign was very 'successful'.

The ZiG notes and coins start circulating today, but in this digital era, this handle Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe behaves like there is nothing new coming. I have not seen campaign going viral on the green app either. Maybe it's actually comms strategy? Wanted to tag this comms guy 4 comment

Namibia's grain harvest this year is down by 53% from last year, and will meet less than half of Namibians' cereal needs. Blame goes to drought worsened by Climate Change for the food production drop. However, 'Irrigation Green Scheme' wheat is doing well, up 68% from last year.

Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency - ZIMSTAT says year on year inflation came out at 57.5% in April up from 55.3% in March.

USD inflation was however steady at 3.2%. This is the first time Zimstat has published USD inflation figures.

There was no ZiG inflation, but it will be published separately going forward.

No ZiG inflation numbers this month.

USD inflation came out at 3,2% in April, this means USD prices were fairly stable during the month. The USA inflation rate for March was 2.7%.

With worsening food insecurity in , farmers will rely on past harvests. Some may have to sell their long-tended livestock to stock food. We must use our resources wisely to combat post-harvest losses, as even small efforts matter greatly.
