Next you replace it with a miserly, punitive workfare that condemns millions to poverty

Then you act outraged when the system you designed enables this

Spare me.

No one should ever feel unsafe.

But we need to acknowledge politicians have made economic & political choices that have contributed to the anger that now manifests towards us.

Rather than crack down on peaceful protest, we must address the root causes of this frustration.

Our net zero targets are based on outsourcing our emissions to developing nations.

Are we in danger of creating a two-tiered world?

Last year, National Grid - privatised in 1990 - made more than £4,500,000,000 in profits.

I think they can afford to decarbonise the energy grid without destroying our agriculture, livelihoods and pristine views.

Closing tax loopholes is critical if we are to stem the extraction of vast public wealth into private hands.

But for true, high-quality public services we also need to tackle the scourge of Britain’s overseas territories and their industrial-scale tax avoidance facilities.

A great template for a logical progression on climate policy making.

Start with the wealthiest, move onto politicians; switch subsidies to climate friendly alternatives ie away from flying to rail & finally land on broader demand management policies like frequent flyer levies

Excellent question from Clive Lewis MP. Climate change & the nature crisis are *already* impacting on the economy, in multiple ways - the elevated rate of inflation we now have is partly a symptom of that. The cost of living crisis will be increasingly driven by the climate crisis.

Our democratic institutions have been captured and run in favour of a few private interests, in this case, the fossil fuel industry.
