This #WorldPoetryDay2024 am heading to Gallions Primary School where pupils will perform 2 #seashanties they re-wrote in my workshops to tell the story of the Lascar sailors! Plus a Bengali river song!

On #WorldPoetryDay we're sharing a poem by Ella Frears written for Firefighter Ellie Voce that recalled the events of #StormEunice in 2022

Performance day tomorrow for our colonial #history , Bengali & British folk music project w the wonderful Gallions Primary School choir supported by Sound Connections. Pupils worked w Gouri Choudhury on a Bengali river boat song & Laila Sumpton on rewriting #seashanties to tell Lascar stories.
