4th graders began exploring UI/UX and accessibility as part of their app design process. We tested real apps & evaluated their design, inclusivity & the overall experience of using the app. Next step: the design phase of our own prototypes! #AppPrototype #EveryoneCanCode #design

Boxing/bagging our third round of donations for City Harvest! We’ve collected 1,011 pounds of food so far this year ❤️ #StudentCouncil
Our #Mandarin students even got to practice their language skills with one of the Art on the Ave Artists-in-Residence who spoke Chinese! #CityAsSchool
Grade 4/5 walked around the neighborhood & Fulton Center to explore how #technology & #innovation transform our daily lives, in big & small ways. We also stopped by the Art on the Ave Artist-in-Residence studio. Ss documented the experience on #iPhone & will reflect tomorrow
Always so inspired listening to Kath Murdoch! Listened to her #ToddleTIES talk & can’t wait to discuss how we can incorporate more opportunities for personal #inquiry with my colleagues. Walking away with a lot to think about & so many ideas!
We used Makey Makey to create our own “Is It Conductive?” testing station and used a Scratch Team game to help us identify which objects are conductive & which are not. We discovered Play-Doh, oranges, nails, paper clips & humans are conductive! #PYP
It was an exciting day in #StudentCouncil ! We worked on the yearbook, helped get the compost buckets ready, emailed families about our next #DoorstepDonations collection for City Harvest and designed our #FieldDay shirts in #Keynote
