I couldn’t agree more with you, Dr. Hanes. It’s time to change the environment to allow it to be more inclusive.

Congratulations to Shira Gertsman et al. on a great article. Ableism exists in medical education, starting before students are even admitted to the profession. Canadian Assoc. of Physicians with Disabilities

Dehumanization of passengers with disabilities, including wheelchair users, occurs all the time, when flying. Big airlines like Air Canada will not change unless legislation forces them to change in order to protect our rights on a flight.
Every day disabled people are left stranded by airlines. Today the Chief Accessibility Officer for Canada Stephanie Cadieux is without her mobility. We must achieve #RightsOnFlights . This is unacceptable.
I have been vocal about the need to legislate backup generators for MURBs-many landlords will only do it if forced to. Until then, stop gap measures like this can help prioritize services to those left in unsafe situations.Thank you Sean Devine for caring about Ottawa residents.
