An information session on decentralization and women’s participation in local governance was held for the students of the Maldives national university

A pleasure to engage with Indian Ambassador H.E. Munu Mahawar. We thank India in Maldives for the support provided to Local Government Authority in advancing the decentralization system & training for councillors, women's development committees & staff. We discussed other areas of future support.

We are working hard with the vision to make Malé City Council an efficient organisation with the required processes in place to ensure services are provided as mandated by the Decentralization Act. Maldives Institute of Local Governance and Local Government Authority Council Digitalisation staff will provide the support needed.

Mayor Adam Azim convened a meeting with Local Government Authority CEO Mariyam Zulfa and a team from LGA to discuss potential areas for collaboration.
